MountainView Fire is recruiting volunteer firefighters.
We are looking for men and women with the desire and dedication to serve their community in this critical role.
Once you join our team, you will receive thorough and intense training in:
Structural Firefighting
Wildland Firefighting
Emergency Medical Response
Hazardous Materials
Vehicle Extrication
This will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. We would like to sit down with you, answer your questions, and have you meet the firefighters who serve your community today. You will get to meet some of your future team members and we will give you a tour of the station. Minimum Application Requirements
1. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Applicant must reside within the District boundaries of MVFPD or within five miles of a MVFPD station, and/or be willing to spend a minimum of 36 hours per month of duty time at an assigned District Fire Station.
3. Applicant must posses a valid Colorado Driver License
4. Applicant will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam, as well as a driving/criminal background investigation, CPAT and psychological test.
5. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the State of Colorado for at least 1 year.
Applicant Selection Process:
1. Pick up an application at Fire Station #1.
2. Oral Board Interview
3. Pre-employment physical exam (through an approved District Medical Provider)
4. Background Investigation (Colorado Bureau of Investigation)
5. CPAT
6. Psychological testing
7. District Orientation
To maintain active status as a MVFPD volunteer firefighter:
1. Complete the minimum training requirements of Firefighter 1 and EMS First Responder within 1 year of hire.
2. Maintain a minimum of thirty-six (36) training hours per year.
3. Respond to a minimum of 15% of all alarms for your designated station, and/or spend 36 hours per month duty time at an assigned District Fire Station.

Mountain View has a new volunteer program which is called Fire Corps. The program provides non-operational community support to the MVFPD. The Fire Corps helps to increase capacity of fire/EMS departments, is a community outreach program, marketing tool and generates advocates.
