Public Education entails all programs and services the District provides to our customers to prevent injury, loss of life, and loss of property.
The Public Education Division also heads up annual Fire Safety talks during Fire Prevention Week to all elementary schools within the Mountain View Fire Protection District. This program has been in existence for over 19 years and continues to grow as our District grows.
The Public Education Division has the following programs and services available, free of charge to District residents:
1. Home Fire and Safety Inspections
2. Child Safety Seat inspections by one of our Child Safety Seat Technicians
3. American Heart Association CPR Classes & First Aid Classes
4. Fire Safety Presentations to any community or civic group within the District
5. Fire Extinguisher, Fire Safety, and Evacuation Training to business and citizens within the District.
6. Fire Station Tours
7. Fire Safety/Prevention Booths at various community events around the District such as: Erie Town Fair, Tri-Town Fiesta Days, Niwot Nostalgia Days, Mead Town Fair, to name a few.
8. Juvenile Fire Setter Program
9. Smoke Detector Program- Smoke Detectors are available free of charge from Mountain View Fire for any District residents in need of a detector.
10. MATT (Medical Assistance for Treating Toddlers)- The District strongly markets the MATT program to our customers. The MATT program consists of an adhesive sticker placed on the underside of an infant/toddlers car seat with specific medical on emergency contact information about the child.
